1. Change your air filter!
The air filter is important to filter out any dirt or debris that is in the air. Everything that passes through the filter is in the air you breathe, so it is important to clean them regularly or else you will be breathing in bad air! It is recommended that you should change your air filter once every 90 days to avoid expensive damage, resulting in air conditioner repair to the entire unit.
2. Prevent debris from entering in the first place
In order to prevent as much dirt and debris as possible from entering your system, you need to have at least two feet of free space around your outdoor heating and cooling parts. If leaves, dirt, or grass has gotten in the machine then you can easily just remove the top to vacuum, clean leaves by hand, and make it sparkling clean again!
3. Clean and maintain the fins
The fins are on the outer part of the machine where the air flows through. So, if they have any debris on them the air will catch what they have. Once your machine is turned off take a powerful stream from a hose to wash them. Do not use a pressure washer, as this can damage the fins. If any of the fins are bent, you can easily take a butter knife and manually straighten them.
4. Level your unit
